New Specialist Pilates Class for Scoliosis at Orpington

Scoliosis affects between 2-25% of the population and is often a cause for lower back pain or postural issues.

Pilates is a well recognised management technique for scoliosis; being able to improve posture and reduce pain. This specialty class is designed specifically for clients with scoliosis, using exercises designed to optimise spinal alignment.  The small class size (maximum of eight participants) and delivery by a Specialist Chartered Physiotherapist, means focused individualised treatment, within a group setting.

Class times: Fridays 14:00 – 14:45 *starting 1st July 2016*
Location: Orpington
Prices: £45 for 5 week course or £12 for drop-in

The Instructor: Rachel Goodenough

Rachel trained as a physiotherapist at King’s College London, qualifying in 2011.  She has specialty training with APPI for the ‘Matwork Pilates Method’ to Level 3 and has attended specific training in Pilates for Scoliosis.  Rachel teaches several Group Pilates Classes and One to One sessions per week at Orpington.  She says ‘I enjoy being able to work closely with clients, to help empower them to improve their posture and symptoms, through the way they move and use their bodies.’
