Don’t Let Pain Dictate the Terms: How to Get Answers with Chronic Pain Management

Share

Chronic pain, sometimes called persistent pain or long-term pain, is something that affects 1 in 7 people in the UK with as much as 20% suffering for more than 20 years. Conditions like osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, soft tissue issues, and lower back pain are all highly complex and can result in a variety of issues such as fatigue, pain, anxiety, depression, and a poor quality of life as a result.

There is no magic cure for chronic pain but there are countless ways to manage pain and mitigate it through chronic pain rehabilitation so that you can live your life your way. At Vita Health Group our expert team helps patients manage pain whether through private physiotherapy, programmes within the NHS framework, or as long term support for corporates.

Our physios, located at clinics across the country, are all HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) and CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) registered and can help patients the causes of their pain while treating problems such as lower back pain, neck pain, joint pain, work-related injuries, muscle tears, and post-surgical rehabilitation services. All of our treatments are gentle and effective and designed to help you get back to your best.

Functional Restoration Programme for Corporates

The Vita Health Group Approach means we work with you holistically to not just understand the physical pain but also how it affects your mental health and wellbeing. One such programme is our Functional Restoration Programme (FRP). The FRP is a service we offer companies or corporate entities to help employees deal with chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

This group programme runs once a week for six weeks with each session running for between 5-6 hours. In each session, our team helps people understand their pain, treat problem areas, and provides them with exercises and techniques to keep on top of pain management and help patients live life on their terms. This holistic, transparent approach has proven incredibly successful with 83% of those completing the programme discharged on full duties, able to return to work and get back to living.

Supporting the Integral NHS Service

Along with our successful functional restoration programme, we also support the NHS with our physiotherapy clinics across the country. Vita’s specialist MSK teams work with NHS Berkshire West, NHS Bromley, NHS Lambeth, NHS Lincolnshire, and NHS Wandsworth to help patients referred to us get back to their best. We have several services to help patients with musculoskeletal concerns including; group exercise classes, therapeutic physiotherapy sessions, health and wellbeing programs, and our rapid Physio Direct service.

To help patients get the help they need quicker we also offer online and assessment options. First, we have a quick and easy Digital Assessment. All you need to do is answer the questions and we’ll direct you to the most appropriate care as quickly as possible.

We also have an Online Referral form for NHS patients to get in contact with a registered physio. Once you’ve filled in and sent off this form, we’ll contact you within seven days to confirm a telephone or video appointment where our friendly physios will consult with you to understand your concerns and suggest the next steps.
