My Story: Charity

I’m Charity, one of the Remote MSK Physiotherapists with Vita Health Group. I have been with THE company since February 2023 following a career break. I was very nervous about getting back into my clinical role and was concerned I might’ve forgotten everything!
I needn’t have worried as VHG were very supportive, giving me a phased start with reduced clinical caseload initially and weekly clinical supervision sessions. I found I was soon back up to speed and felt invigorated by all the positive interactions with clients and helping people reach their full health potential.
I very much enjoy my work here as VHG really engage with the concept of flexible and remote working. This offers me the ability to balance my various roles in life such as looking after my elderly mum with dementia, my work as a mountain leader and also having time to be a hands-on fur-mum to two cheeky border terriers!
I never feel alone in VHG there’s constant friendly chatter through the TEAMS group messaging and we have regular team meetings and 1:1 sessions with our team leads and clinical supervisors. We even get TEAMS coffee breaks so it feels just like being in the office/clinic!
The one thing I get asked most at vhg is “How can we help you to be better at your job? What do you need? How can we help you achieve your full potential?” and it feels fab to know you’re part of a team that puts its employees at the heart of what it stands for.

My story: Lyz

As a Physiotherapist I didn’t think a remote job would ever be an option in my career.

With my husband’s work there was the possibility that we could move every two years. As such I wanted a job in which I would have consistency and flexibility to move as required without having to change jobs and add to the complexities of relocating.

I joined Vita Health Group in early 2020 as a triage clinician and I have worked on several private medical insurance and occupational health contracts seeing a wide variety of patients from many different backgrounds.

A few years into the role we became a family of three and I was fortunate that the company supported me in allowing me to alter my days and hours to reflect the difficulties of juggling childcare and all the additional challenges that come with it.

This role has given me the re-assurance, support and flexibility to keep working as a Physiotherapist and continue what I love by guiding and helping patients recover.

My story; Ella

I went to the University of the West of England for 3 years where I studied Sport Rehabilitation and graduated in August 2022. Once I had graduated, I decided to take a small break away from my degree for a few months, during this time I managed and treated my own client base to maintain practice and build upon my skill set. Starting the new year, I came across a job opportunity with VHG for Rehabilitation Therapist. At first, I had inhibitions regarding the virtual component of the service pathway coming from a face-to-face environment, however shortly after starting the role I began to understand how beneficial this alternative approach worked for injury rehabilitation. One of the main enjoyments from this role is watching patients improve and grow in confidence after injury and being supported by a close-knit team of colleagues.

My Story; Ryan

I’m Ryan, I graduated from the University of Bolton May 2021, in terms of the role I enjoy the complexity of the patients, the flexibility with diaries and workload and the support that I get from colleagues. I am part of the FRP team, we work with chronic pain patients. We aim to provide individually tailored home exercise programs and in-depth education sessions to allow patients to alleviate and manage their own symptoms. The role involves a varied workload which gets the brain working. The role is within a great team who all support each other day to day.

My Story: Rebecca

I’m Rebecca and I joined Vita Health Group in 2018 in the MSK Corporate Team as a Rehabilitation Therapist after studying Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation at Teesside University. My role as a rehab therapist involves delivering exercise rehabilitation through a programme called FRP (Functional Restoration Programme) which is designed to help employees fulfil all their duties at work and remain fit and active enough to continue living a happy life. I educate patients how to manage ongoing or repeated episodes of muscle and joint pain. This helps patients understand pain perception, mental health awareness and how chronic pain can affect you psychologically as well as physically. I design and create exercise rehabilitation programmes suited to the patient’s individual needs and physical capabilities. In 2022 I was promoted to a Senior Rehabilitation Therapist and now I am a part time Team Lead which gives me the opportunity to not only help and support patients but also my colleagues with queries or problems they have and collaboratively working with them to come up with the best solutions.
