My Story: Charlie Palmer, Clinical lead

My journey with Vita Health Group started in 2014 as a Triage Physiotherapist, when I joined the company following completion of a full-time MSc.

Having been qualified for over 10 years, I was looking for a new challenge and a different way to utilise my clinical experience and knowledge.

VHG offered everything that I was looking for, and in a supportive and friendly working environment. After several months of working virtually with patients to achieve their treatment goals, I was encouraged to participate in some clinical audit activities. I soon joined the MSK Corporate Clinical Governance Team, where we also focused on clinical support and training for our team, as well as the investigation of our service complaints.

In 2019, I took on the role of Clinical Governance Lead, and in recent months was promoted to Clinical Lead for the MSK Corporate Service. My focus is to drive clinical quality forward for our patients, our Physiotherapists and for our customers.

VHG have supported my career progression in a remote setting, have enabled me to work flexibly as a parent to a young toddler and I am proud to be an employee of a company with such ambition and a clear vision to
the future”.

My story: Jacy Okrah, CBT Service manager

I joined Vita Health Group in August 2019 as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT) – Prior to this, I had worked in the NHS and briefly as self-employed after qualifying as a CBT therapist.

I was particularly drawn to the company’s robust clinical governance, flexibility, excellent clinical outcomes, and occupational focus in therapy. In the last six months I have had the privilege of progressing from the duty therapist role into the senior CBT/team lead role. During this period, I managed a team of highly skilled CBT therapists with responsibilities of conducting line management, organising CPD and recruitment which has been highly rewarding.

In addition to this, I have had the opportunity to be involved with customers in the business, supporting the implementation of our supervision models and clinical guides. This experience has been invaluable, and I has provided insight into the operational and commercial aspect of corporate healthcare.

I have recently been promoted to the role of Step 3 Service Manager. I am proud to work for VHG and immensely grateful for the breadth of experiences I have gained within the business, allowing me to draw
on both my business and occupational psychology as well as my clinical experience to lead a team of highly skilled and varied clinicians.

My Story: Chloe Lyons, National Service centre manager

“I joined Vita Health Group in August 2019 in the National Service Centre (NSC) team as a Call Centre Advisor, working as a team to handle all of the incoming calls to the corporate side of the business. Within that role, I gained enough knowledge and experience to progress to NSC Senior Advisor within three months. I then became responsible for the training of the team.

In July 2020, I became NSC Team Lead and was able to use the skills I had learnt to manage the team, focus on meeting NSC’s KPIs and support the wider business. It’s been great to see how vital the work we do in NSC is to the rest of Vita Health Group.

Recently, I’ve been promoted to NSC Manager on a Maternity Cover contract. I am so appreciative of the opportunities that VHG have given me throughout the last 18 months, and so grateful to work for a company who encourage and facilitate personal and professional growth. I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds within VHG”.

My story: Bea Farrell, Course facilitator

“I joined Vita Health Group in June 2018 after finishing my A-levels. I was looking to start a career but was not sure what I wanted to pursue. I had previous customer service experience, which led me to a role as an administrator for the National Service Centre.

After just under a year of being an advisor, I stepped up to National Service Centre (NSC) Team Lead where my responsibilities changed to managing the team and monitoring targets for individuals as well as the team.

My experience in NSC provided me with the groundwork to go further, where I have now been successful for a new role supporting our NHS mental health service with varied and exciting tasks.

I am grateful for the opportunities provided by Vita Health Group to not only have the experience of managing a close knit and successful team but also the support to build a career”.

My story: Jasmine Ager, HR Senior Advisor

I joined Vita Health Group in January 2018, straight from sixth form as a HR Administrator. As soon as I commenced employment, I instantly felt part of a team, not only in the HR department but within the whole organisation.

After a short time in my role I started an apprenticeship and began studying for my CIPD Level 3 – HR support. This opportunity allowed to me to grow my knowledge but also develop as a person. VHG fully encouraged this extra learning and supported me the whole way through.

Alongside this I also had the opportunity to work on a project team which was crucial in the mobilisation of our NHS services. This experience was vital to my progression as it gave me the confidence to grow as a HR professional. More recently I have been promoted to HR Senior Advisor and am aligned to our Support Services and Private business areas. I am very thankful to be able to be a part of the VHG team and am grateful for the opportunities that have led me to where I am.

My story: Kat Ishaq, Senior Bid Manager

I joined Vita Health Group in May 2018 as Senior Bid Manager for the extremely competitive NHS Bid Team. We work hard to ensure every bid we submit to provide the NHS with physical and mental healthcare services takes the client on a journey, demonstrating how Vita Health Group will exceed their expectations.

Anyone who works in the crazy world of bidding will say it’s not for the faint hearted – the hours can be long, and the knock backs hard, but we embrace every outcome as a learning opportunity, always striving to improve, and laughing along the way!

I love working for Vita Health Group. I feel valued, supported, and challenged. I am immensely proud of the success the NHS Bid Team has achieved over the last two and a half years, and our contribution to Vita Health Group’s growth. The services Vita Health Group are providing because of our successful NHS bids, make a real difference, enabling people to live happier and healthier lives. I am excited for what lies ahead.
