Ishmael Beckford
EDI and Sustainability Director
Ishmael is the EDI and Sustainability Director, a member of the Vita Executive Management Team and Board. He has a clinical background, qualifying with a BSc in Physiotherapy in 2006 and also holds a Diploma in Orthopaedic Medicine and MSc in Leadership and Management in Health.
Ishmael gained experience working as an occupational health physiotherapist for several years, alongside working in musculoskeletal (MSK) private practice. He then progressed into management and leadership, fulfilling Clinic Manager, Head of Service and Operational Lead positions in MSK and Mental Health Services.
In addition to this Ishmael has also been Chair of Council at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy, the UKs Physiotherapy professional body and trade union. He is also passionate about leadership development and supports across a number of mentoring programmes.
