The Role:

  • The role of the Wellbeing Navigator will be to provide a vital link between our mental health focused IAPT services, and the wider Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) Sector. You will be responsible for guiding service users into support services to help them to feel more connected to their community and improve their wellbeing
  • You will work with a wide range of service users from different backgrounds, with a range of different mental health needs
  • To do this, you will need to stay up to date with the latest developments in the VCSE sector with the support of the Partnership Liaison Officers and Navigator Lead
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge and understanding of mental health services in the BNSSG area, as well as previous experience working with the voluntary and community sector. You will be self-motivated but equally able to work in a team setting
  • This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to improve mental health services in the Bristol area, and strengthen the links between NHS commissioned services and the voluntary sector.
  • Your role will support the wider VitaMinds team by redirecting appropriate referrals to a non-IAPT pathway, allowing the Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners to focus on those in need of more therapeutic interventions

Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Ability to undertake assessment of needs
  • Understanding and awareness of Psychological Therapies within IAPT
  • Good knowledge of local statutory and voluntary services in BNSSG
  • An awareness of and commitment to supporting and facilitating diversity and inclusion
  • Willingness to travel

Desirable:

  • Ability to undertake research
  • Public Health and Prevention Agenda
